Job description

As a Trainee Customs Process Administrator, you will learn to be responsible for processing client data, reviewing commercial shipping documents, and applying customs and excise duties and procedures as appropriate. This is all with a variety of systems in a fast-paced environment, so a keen eye to detail is essential and someone who takes pride in their work is a must. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn basic Customs Import formalities and procedures using SCDP (Simplified Customs Declaration Process) 

  • Learn how to operate Duty Management computer systems 

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of duty management accounts, ensuring they are operated according to their authorisation and specific SOP 

  • Assist with Customs warehouse removals, ensuring they are processed within a compliant time frame and stock records are kept up to date 

  • General office administration (filing/ record keeping etc) 

  • Ongoing liaison with HMRC/Clients/Suppliers 

QUALITY:

  • Reviewing work prior to it being processed to always ensure the highest quality 

  • Effectively manage your own time, workload and resources 

  • Ensure that all work is accurate, and attention has been given to the finer details 

  • Understand how guidelines, policies and standards will affect your work 

WHAT TO EXPECT: 

  • You will be based in the Liverpool office, with potential for visits to other CSG offices for training or events 

  • The dress code is smart casual 

  • This field of work is often time-sensitive and very reliant on accuracy, but you will be supported by a friendly and knowledgeable team to meet these challenges

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Pension: 5% company contribution subject to employee-required auto-enrolment contribution
