Role Overview

As a (Junior) Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial controlling for our Swiss operations. You will work closely with internal teams (Operations, O2C, Vendors, Customers) and external entities such as BAZG/Bundeskasse, supporting day-to-day controlling activities and contributing to the month-end closing process.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior professional who seeks broad exposure to operational finance and wants to grow into a more senior controlling role over time.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Controlling

  • Support the preparation and analysis of financial results for the Swiss entity.

  • Ensure accurate and timely handling of customs-related financial matters (BAZG/Bundeskasse).

  • Perform cost center and profitability analyses to support local management.

  • Monitor key financial KPIs and assist in identifying variances and root causes.

Operational & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations to understand business drivers behind financial results.

  • Act as point of contact for finance-related topics with customers and vendors.

  • Support internal stakeholders with financial insights to drive informed decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, Swiss statutory requirements, and audit standards.

Month-End Closing & Accounting Support

  • Assist the O2C Team Lead in month-end closing activities.

  • Support vendor and customer account reconciliations and booking checks.

  • Review and validate financial entries with a strong attention to accuracy.

  • Contribute to continuous process improvements in financial workflows.

Job requirements

Required

  • Commercial education (KV), Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Controlling, or equivalent.

  • 1–3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Controlling (internships included).

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus.

  • German and English proficiency

Preferred

  • Experience in logistics, customs, transportation, or related industries.

  • Familiarity with Swiss customs processes and BAZG/Bundeskasse interactions.

  • Interest in developing into a more senior Controlling role.
