Job description

As a Customs Clearance Coordinator, you will be creating customs documentation and overseeing successful and correct customs clearance status of traffic. A pivotal role that requires attention to detail and being able to work to a process while also giving consideration to how those processes can be improved. Experience in Excel is an advantage but ultimately the ability to expand on basic knowledge and learn new systems is more important. The role requires a strong team ethic but also the ability to work proactively on your own.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Customs entries to be submitted in accordance with clients IOP, in line with current HMRC legislation, using ASM Sequoia

  • Dealing with various modes of transport – Road, Sea and Air

  • Dealing with a variety of commodities

  • Understanding different Customs processes such as Homeuse, IP, returned goods

  • Dealing with all queries quickly and efficiently

  • Verifying documents received for Customs purposes are compliant and correct

  • Manage own/group email inbox efficiently

  • Working on multiple operating systems

  • Communicating with customers directly via email and telephone

  • Liaising with Customs and port authorities

  • Understanding incoterms

RESPONSIBILITIES

All Customs declarations, following customers’ instructions.

• Customs amendments/reclaims.

• All emails to be responded to with 24 hours of receipt .

• Customer focused and a natural communicator, able to build excellent relationships internally and externally.

• Maintain and improve knowledge of Customs Processes and Procedures particularly around CPC’s, the HMRC Tariff and preferences
