The role
We are looking for a Chief Accounant with entrepreneurial and strategic mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will play an instrumental part in driving our strategic agenda and transformation across the group. We’re looking for a candidate with a strong background in Finance, Consulting or Business Intelligence who can independently manage complex financial projects, with a focus on international collaboration and cross-cultural communication.
As a Chief Accountant you will be located in Poland and be part of the Local Finance team. You will report to the local Financial Director and work closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Managing Directors, Finance Directors and Department heads across various countries to drive business performance.
Responsibilities
Supervision of bookkeeping
Ensuring compliance of accounting records with applicable legal regulations (Accounting Act, Commercial Companies Code, tax laws).
Control over the accuracy of accounting documents and their classification.
Coordination of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
Preparation of financial statements in accordance with the Accounting Act for 5 companies of the CSG group in Poland.
Collaboration with external and internal auditors.
Supervision and control over the payroll calculation process
Monitoring and verification of the accuracy of recorded cost evidence, payroll documents, sales books, bank entries/cash, fixed assets, external liabilities
Supervision of the debt collection process, calculation of the reserve for overdue receivables
Implementation and supervision of internal control processes in accordance with Group requirements
Review and reconciliation of balance sheet account balances (Account reconciliation).
Management of the accounting team
Organization of work for a 5-person team (task assignment, performance control, substantive support)
Motivating and developing employee competencies (training, mentoring).
Evaluating team performance, conducting periodic employee assessments.
Setting priorities and work schedules for the team.
Collaboration with other departments aimed at developing solutions to improve the quality of services provided to external and internal clients.
Reporting
Preparing tax declarations (CIT, VAT, PIT, others).
Preparing financial and management reports for the needs of the Management Board and external institutions.
Monitoring and analyzing costs, revenues, and profitability.
Collaboration with the controlling department.
Accounting policy and procedures
Updating and supervising the accounting policy and chart of accounts.
Implementing and improving accounting and control procedures.
Ensuring compliance with legal regulations and the company's internal regulations.
Cooperation with external institutions
Contacts with tax offices, Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), Central Statistical Office (GUS), banks, auditors.
Representing the company during tax inspections and audits
Participation in strategic projects
Support for tax and financial optimization projects.
Participation in merger, acquisition, and transformation processes.
Implementing ERP/accounting systems and process automation.
Active participation in the implementation of KSeF and JPK-CIT.
Requirements
Higher education in a relevant field (finance, accounting, economics).
Minimum 5 years of experience in the position of chief accountant in companies with an international scope.
Knowledge of tax regulations, accounting law, familiarity with IFRS is an asset.
Experience in team management.
Analytical thinking skills, accuracy, responsibility.
Knowledge of financial-accounting systems (familiarity with Comarch-Optima or MS Dynamics is an asset).
Very good command of the English language.
Ability to work on-site in our office located in Odlewnicza street in Warsaw
