The role 

 

We are looking for a Chief Accounant with entrepreneurial and strategic mindset and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will play an instrumental part in driving our strategic agenda and transformation across the group. We’re looking for a candidate with a strong background in Finance, Consulting or Business Intelligence who can independently manage complex financial projects, with a focus on international collaboration and cross-cultural communication. 

 

As a Chief Accountant you will be located in Poland and be part of the Local Finance team. You will report to the local Financial Director and work closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Managing Directors, Finance Directors and Department heads across various countries to drive business performance.  

Responsibilities

  • Managing accounting function of the company, including the development and upkeep of internal accounting policies and procedures. Responsible for preparing financial statements in line with both Polish Accounting Standards and IFRS.

  • Overseing the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

  • Acting as the company’s representative in dealings with auditors, governmental bodies, and financial institutions (such as the Central Statistical Office, Tax Authorities, and the Ministry of Finance).

  • Assisting the accounting team with IFRS-based reporting within the group consolidation system.

  • Ensuring that all accounting operations and financial reporting comply with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Evaluating the efficiency of accounting processes and internal controls, and proposes enhancements where needed.

  • Supporting tax compliance efforts in collaboration with external tax advisors.

  • Providing financial insight and guidance to support business decision-making related to accounting matters.

Requirements

  • At least 8+ years of experience in a similar role within a multinational company or consultancy

  • A master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Highly analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex issues

  • Results-driven and problem solving mindset

  • Proficiency in financial software, business intelligence tools and ERP systems

  • Experience with planning software is a plus (including implementation)

  • Enjoys working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams

  • Hands-on, enthusiastic and motivated
