Job description
Purpose of the Role:
- This position exists to support the International Customs & Compliance Director with managing the compliance (customs and corporate) of the different CSG entities in Europe.
- This function is able to centrally manage and keep control of the different customs (and excise) compliance risks coming out of CSG’s European operations in 14 countries.
- This role requires a good understanding of the operations as well as a solid understanding of the relevant customs regulations.
- It requires monitoring changes of European customs law and regulations in order to proactively address anticipated issues based on new laws and bring forward solutions/ideas to operations to approach such issues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Drives the compliance internal audit program to results;
- Engages and drives compliance projects aimed at further developing the internal compliance of the group;
- Supports the business and the local compliance teams with operational questions (including but not limited to sanction related questions);
- Supports the legal department to deal with queries regarding customs agreements, power of attorney’s and general terms and conditions;
- Develops and improves policies, procedures and guidelines to structurally address certain areas of risks and ensure those risks are mitigated;
- Supports the quality team in developing and rolling out a group quality management manual and tool to be used in all countries;
- Assists the group with license and AEO audits conducted by authorities and provides recommendations to entity management;
- Maintains the different customs authorizations and guarantees held within the group;
- Closely collaborates with local AEO owners to ensure procedures are kept up to date and properly followed;
- Provides periodical reporting to group’s International Customs & Compliance Director;
- Maintains an excellent relationship with the country and entity managers and different team leaders in order to stay well informed on the various operations;
Job requirements
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum Customs experience > 5 years;
- International experience including experience dealing with AEO certified companies;
- Academic combined with practical experience;
- Legal background is a plus;
- Experience with setting up policies and procedures;
- Good operational knowledge involving customs clearance activities;
- Fluent English speaker and writer.
- Comfortable with MS Office;
- Government systems understanding;
- Proactive and dynamic;
- Teamplayer.
