Purpose of the Position / Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the growth of Customs Support Group’s customs services portfolio in domestic and international markets. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, developing long-term business relationships, and identifying opportunities to expand customs-related services across various industries.
In addition, the position involves collaborating closely with operational and customs teams, understanding customer needs, delivering tailored solutions, and representing the company in negotiations, industry events, and business meetings to support sustainable commercial growth.
Areas of Responsibility
Business Development & Sales
Actively acquiring new customers interested in customs services, including import/export clearance, transit services, and customs consultancy
Identifying customer needs and proposing tailored customs and trade compliance solutions
Preparing and presenting commercial offers, proposals, and business presentations
Conducting negotiations and managing the sales process from prospecting through contract signing
Achieving assigned sales targets and supporting the company's growth objectives
Maintaining accurate sales records and reporting business development results
Customer Management
Building and maintaining long-term relationships with existing customers and business partners
Acting as a trusted advisor on customs services and international trade-related matters
Ensuring a professional, customer-focused approach in all customer interactions
Stakeholder Management
Collaborating closely with customs and operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Coordinating internally to develop customized solutions that address customer requirements
Building relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within customer organization
Market Development & Representation
Monitoring market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities
Supporting strategic business development initiatives and market expansion activities
Representing the company at trade fairs, conferences, industry meetings, and networking events
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in selling logistics, freight forwarding, customs, or related services
Good understanding of customs procedures, customs regulations, and international trade processes
Proven experience working with B2B customers and managing commercial relationships
Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently
English language proficiency at minimum B2 level; additional languages are an advantage
Valid Category B driving license and willingness to travel for business purposes
