To further expand and grow our consultancy business, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to acquire new and develop existing national and international customers (BeNeLux & Europe) across various industries for consulting projects in Customs, International trade, Export Control, and Customs Compliance.


Role and responsibilities
Your focus areas are:

  • Maximizing business growth within consulting across BeNeLux and Europe, 
  • Taking the lead when it comes down to business development on consulting services, 
  • Operating in a matrix organization at a fast pace in a dynamic setting, and 
  • Increasing the strategic customs consulting focus within the (group) organization and its customer base.

Your primary day-to-day scope and activities are:

  • Conduct needs analysis to determine a match between the customer’s requirement and CSG consulting services,
  • Leads in commercial customer discussions,
  • Explores expressed customer needs, identifies problems to solve, and build these into a compelling reason to change,
  • Efficiently determines a customer’s readiness, focusing time on those who are willing to take advantage of the related consulting services,
  • Independent acquisition of new customer relationships with a focus on strategic and operational consulting within customs,
  • Developing existing customer relationships and taking on customer consulting projects to cross-sell together with our senior consultants,
  • Expansion of the sales presence in customs consulting via the sales business development network of the Customs Support Group companies,
  • Development/revision of marketing media and customer presentations as well as expansion/maintenance of the marketing presence (online/offline), also in coordination with Corporate Marketing,
  • Implementation of webinars and webcasts, sometimes also as customer appointments on-site,
  • Collaborate with the consultant’s execution team & operational manager,
  • Engage consultant resources to develop, plan and manage timeline to provide customs consulting.

In this position, you will report to the European Head of Consultancy and work closely with the Operational Manager, the Consultancy team, and various internal stakeholders.

Stellenanforderungen

You have a background and track record that shows you are the right fit for this position. 

In general, this would look like something along these lines:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree,
  • Advanced understanding of and experience in business development in a service/intermediary/consulting industry,
  • Consistently on-target in your performance,
  • Well-developed commercial and collaboration skills at different hierarchy levels, internally and externally,
  • Track record in customer engagement activities,
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in Dutch and English, spoken and written, other languages are nice-to-have,
  • Customer service focussed attitude and result-driven mindset,
  • Personality trades; curious, eager to learn, self-starter, in control, agile, and optimistic,
  • Willingness to travel internationally now and again - a few times a year for a short period of time,
  • Experience with and understanding of Customs and international trade is a significant advantage, however not mandatory,
  • Genuine interest in Customs and International trade is off course necessary.
